Thanks for all

Before getting long to reflect my summer, let me tell u alll.

Thanks so much for sharing precious time with me

I had wonderful summer in Vancouver.

I wasn't sure how long I would stay in Vancouver for this summer when I came back here in the end of April.

Came back here for tour guide job, but it was canceled cuz of swine flu
After that, I wonder how I would spend my Vancouver summer.

When I reflect my summer, it was all about volleyball memories except work, Pilates in N.Y and so on.

I had so much fun to play volleyball.
Starting with Asian tournament, I enjoyed lots through outdoor grass volleyball.

Special thanks to
Asian tournament- Apples bottoms: Linda, Tammy, Maggie, Yuka, Rosie, Tracy, Rachel
It was the best Asian tourny I have ever had. hope to play with u girls next year again!

10 weeks grass league
Tuesday- team Japan pair. Shin. It was really fun to play with you. We can be the best grass Japanese pair.

Wednesday-Brian. learned a lot from u. Even i was sucks sometimes, you always shake it off and killed the ball. awesome grass master.

Thursday- Yuka, Brian, Johnson, Jay, Darryl,
I don't know how I can express to appreciate you guys for wonderful time. It was my best favorite fun night to play and hang out with you guys. v-ball, dinner, movie, and so on. Tons of unforgettable memories from Thu night. Couldn't stop laughing during and after game. Awesome Champion team

Whistler & 1 day tourny – Allen, you are such a competitive great player! We gotta work on to be champion at the final game!

In the end, I appreciate a lot to everybody who used time to share the moment with me for the last 2 days.

The ppl who came out for “See you again party” or sent me msg, I had unforgettable moments through the party.

I had never hold a party for just myself like birthday or farewell party.

As the day of departure got closer, everybody's face came up in my mind. And I really wanted to see you guys.

Then, I have decided to hold party as the first attempt in my life.

At the same time, I was really nervous about how many ppl could come out.
I set the table for 15 cuz I wasn't sure how many ppl could come and it was just middle of weekday.
But eventually 23 people got together in total. +9 ppl who sent me sweet message.

I miss you all...

On the last day of Van, I could see another 9 ppl.

41 ppl whom I could see or contact in the last 2 days.

I never forget about everybody and the time I spent during the summer until the last minutes.

I will do my best in Japan till the day coming back to Vancouver again.

I will update Japanese life here.
Then, if you get bored or feel like killing time, just take a moment to visit my site and check how silly Japanese gal is doing:)

Really really looking forward to seeing you all again.

Time passed really fast...

Tmrw is the last day of Pilates class.
I have learned a lot at the class. Also, I learned from other instructors who got together for this course.

They have all different background and job even they are here for Pilates instructor course.
More than half of member are not from N.Y. They came here for this course.

Dancer & gym trainer,
phisio therapist,
ballet dancer & instructor,
world level runner (she used to be) & now gym manager and trainer in Russia,
yoga instructor & make up artist,
trainer for actors (she is gonna open up gym for that).

And me... who used to work as a tour guide and is a sports lover such as volley-ball, marine sports, dance and so on.

This is New York where people get together for something. I am really happy that I met them and took the course together.

One more day of class. Do my best and cherish the time with them!

1st day in N.Y - relaxing afternoon at Central Park-

As I headed to the south, I hit the north edge of Central Park.

It is huuuuuuuuge including lake, garden, animal centre, and so on....

Of course, Stanley Park in Van is huge, too. The size of central park is a little bit smaller than Stanley Park.

But the great point of this park is that it is in the middle of town.
This is the real oasis in the town.

I stop walking by the skill of awesome drum.
Such a great thing to be stopped by music.

This is only about quarter of central park.
Getting tired then back to Harlem.
Had bit early supper.

For the 1st Harlem night, I wanted to try "soul food" which is original dish among African American.
Went to "Sylvia's"

I looked the dishes which other ppl were having.
mmmm. It might be too big for me.
Then, I picked from appetizer menu "soul fried chicken".

CA391859_convert_20090720125058.jpg
All dishes come with corn bread.
It was really yummy :)
About chicken? yeah it will be the same as u can expect from pic.

Did grocery shopping for Breakfast and back to home.
I couldn't slp that much during the flight, then took a nap.. longer than expected..
That's why I am stil awake right now..

Okies. For tmrw, I better slp.
I will have Pilates course from tmrw 5 days in a row.
TIme to go to bed
I will do my best for that

Got to N.Y - walk around Harlem-

Left Vancouver last night and got to N.Y this morning.

The beautiful sunny weather welcomed me.

Took air train and subway and head to the place to stay...

It is really convenient with subway and bus everywhere.
Even I am bad at direction, I got to the place without getting lost.

I will stay in Harlem for 11 nights first.

It is shared apartment. I have another room mate who is staying here for a month for sightseeing.

Harlem is well known for the area of African American

Especially, the part where I am staying is West Harlem. Mainly Dominican American are living this area.

After I done unpacking, went for looking around this area.

The peple I saw here were 90 % black ppl. Maybe 1 % of Asian ppl.

I feel totally different from walking around in Van.

The buildings are really beautiful and I was attracted by the design of church, too.

Today is Sunday.
Then, good to visit church cuz they have gospel style.

I went to the church where tourists can get in as well.
It was like concert hall with 2nd floor. I sat down there and enjoyed it.

I felt like it was music festival. I was impressed by their songs.
Getting together including kids and adults, it is such an important occasion for them.

For lunch, I dropped by the famous cafe in Harlem.
"Settepani's"

Got almond croissant which was recommended by kind clerk.
CA391846_convert_20090720125616.jpg
Covered by crispy croissant, sweet almond cream came out.
I am fully charged :)

Head to afternoon walking.
For Harlem,,,,,
CA391839_convert_20090720123902.jpg
This can't be missed.
Apollo theater

Forever he will be in the heart for everybody around the world.
CA391843_convert_20090720125009.jpg
The wall beside the theater was filled with tons of message for Michael.
Also, there were some shops which sell his CD and T-shirts.
As I was seeing some messages, I was deeply impressed what he left in this world and people's heart.

Almost I looked around Harlem area, then headed to the south to visit Central Park.

Relaxing day before leave for N.Y

The time is coming...

Before leaving for N.Y, I had relaxing day in Van.

My sister moved in my place and we went some shopping to Oakridge centre.

On the way back, we had supper.

I regret why I haven't tried this earlier.....
Recently I am kind of addicted to this.

Viet Sandwitch.
Perfect combination of french toast & chicken(ham) & vinegarish veg.

Before leaving Van, I knew that I will miss BBT.

I was wondering which flavor I should get and felt like trying something new.

Bit of adventure before leave!
dori1.jpg
Durian flavor

The clerk took out the frozen durian and put it into the mixer.

The taste is.....

The 1st sip... mmmm?? bit weird??
but after 2nd sip,,,, I lov this :)

I remember the time when I opened the durian with my friends 5 or 6 yrs ago at the dormitory.
Of course, it was crazy smell and maybe maybe maybe good taste.
Finally I got good impression about durian.
It was good adventure and I was impressed.

Back to home and get ready to leave soon.

I will get to N.Y tmrw's early mor.
After that, I will head to the place to stay in Harlem.
Tmrw is free day before Pilates course starts from Mon.
Then, I might look around Harlem and get ready for 2 weeks stay.

Okies. Time to go
